My name is Cecilia Navarro. I am a licensed mental health therapist in California; working with young adults and professions dealing with anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Over the past 8 years, I have worked with a diverse group of people including toddlers, kids, teens, families, and adults. My professional work has also led me to work with individuals experiencing homelessness, severe mental illness, substance abuse, and undergoing crises. I'm passionate about mental health. My mission is to help individuals struggling with depression, self-doubt, tension in relationships, anxiety, and difficult life situations, build confidence, and process life's messy moments so they can find joy in life again.
According to the CDC, Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Mental and physical health are equally important components of overall health. For example, depression increases the risk of many types of physical health problems, particularly long-lasting conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Similarly, the presence of chronic conditions can increase the risk of mental illness.
